Restore America Update

Restore America of Kentucky is a patriotic organization determined to restore our country to full faith in God, family values, constitutional freedoms, and financial responsibility as in the days of our founding fathers. Dr. Jeff Fugate, Pastor of the Clays Mill Road Baptist Church of Lexington, KY, is the founder of Restore America of Kentucky. Please watch our promotional video on our media page.

Many in our modern times have tried to conserve what is left of this nation’s faith, morality, and liberty. However, America needs more than just a “Conservative Movement”; it needs a Movement of Restoration. America needs to “go back” to where it began – a return to its foundation.

In spite of modern-day attempts to re-write our nation’s early history, we know that our founding fathers did indeed have a strong and very outspoken faith in God. The President of these United States may proclaim that America was not founded as a Christian nation; but we could examine the pages of our history, study the lives and quotations from our founding fathers, and walk through the halls of the Supreme Court – from the Liberty Bell to the monuments that adorn our capitol – and even scrutinize the very coins that we hold in our pockets and discover ample proof that our America truly is a Christian nation founded upon moral principles and Bible truths. We must cry, Restore.

There are and have been forces at work which seek to take away the freedoms which were the very essence of our nation’s founding. Although the Bill of Rights states that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed,” there have been many attempts by politicians to strip this right away completely. We must cry, Restore. When environmentalists can ruin the livelihood of a business like the coal mining industry, we must cry, Restore. When a second-grade child is sent for psychiatric evaluation after drawing a picture of Jesus on the cross during Christmas time, we must cry, Restore.

The Family Unit has been under fierce attack by the liberals and homosexuals for some time through abortion and same-sex marriage. Abortion is not a family value; however, it is continuing to grow at a fast pace and is supported by the Health Care Bill for families. Abortion is neither health NOR care. Same-sex marriage has been voted down over 31 times in America; nevertheless, Congressmen continue to fight for what the American people do not want. We must cry, Restore.

There is little to no financial responsibility from the State House to the Congress. In the state of Kentucky alone since 2000, the General Assembly has spent about $3.6 billion more than what they collected in revenues. We must cry, Restore. Rather than curbing their spending, Kentucky government leaders recommend “predatory” legalized gambling as the way out of debt. Legalized gambling is just the beginning of sorrows for a family. It opens the door for men and women to waste their earnings and neglect their responsibility to their families. This is not what Kentucky wants or needs. We must cry, Restore.

As activists, we need to become politically involved and let our voices be heard. Now is our time to act – before it is too late. We must cry, Restore.

So you’re “pro-life” but you’re against gun control and you support strip mining and mountaintop removal? That doesn’t make any sense.
